Mark Richt....

Now I understand all the hype from the ladies....most women in GA think UGA's head football coach Mark Richt is pretty cute, but I never saw what all the hype was about until Friday. At my job on Friday we had an employee pep rally put on by my department in honor of UGA Football. Usually some of the players come, Hairy Dog, and this time Mark Richt came. WOW! He is a lot more handsome in person! I officially have a little crush on Mark Richt :) Anyways.....the pep rally was a lot of fun (who doesn't like slacking off work for a couple of hours!?!?) and I got to meet a celebrity. Here are some photos....

Tracey, my co-worker, was SOOOO flustered to see Richt and get her picture taken with him. She could hardly contain herself! Which made me laugh a little :)

A sad day for Bulldog's Fans

Well last night Eric and I went to the UGA vs Alabama game. There was a lot of hype for this game and we were so excited to go to the game!! Eric wanted to sell our tickets but because it was going to be a Blackout game...I wanted to go (and not get us the extra $300 we would have gotten from selling our tickets)....boy did we, well, I guess I made a mistake! The Dawgs played very badly and it was just painful to watch the 1st half. After 1/2 time things got a little better and we thought we might be able to catch up. But we were wrong....so disappointing!

A few more pictures from Asheville.

We really loved our trip to Ashevile and I am still sad it is over! I cant wait to go back some time hopefully soon! While in Asheville I was inspired to start collecting fiesta ware....My friend Missy has it and I have always loved it. The Sweet Biscuit Inn had a TON of it and now I want my kitchen/dining room to look like this!

Here are some more pics from the Biltmore...

PS Isn't my hubby hot!?!? :)

Our last day in Asheville

Our last day in Asheville we got up early and breakfast at the Inn and packed up the car before heading to the Biltmore Estate. We spent most of the day exploring the estate. We started out inside where I took one picture and then was told that you cant take pictures inside the Biltmore. Bummer! After checking out the GIANT mansion we walked around a bit out side. We walked up a grass hill to check out the view of the estate and then looked at the beautiful gardens. After that we headed to the Winery, sampled some wine, and then checked out the Farm. Around 3:00 we finished everything at the Biltmore and started on the journey home. We left Asheville with less than a quarter of a tank in gas and found that many of the gas stations we were driving by were completely out of gas! I started getting a little nervous, but about an hour into our drive we found gas!! After my nerves calmed down a bit we had a pleasant drive home! :)

Here is a picture of me before we went into the Biltmore...I thought it was a beautiful statue of Asland :)

Here is my only picture from inside the Biltmore....a glass ceiling :)

The gardens (always my favorite part!)

Day 2 in Asheville

We woke up around 8 on Saturday morning to have coffee on the front porch while we waited for breakfast to be made. We had a great time getting to know a family staying in the Inn from NC. After breakfast I took a relaxing bath while reading my book. After we both got ready we headed to downtown Asheville to do a little shopping. We found some fun things and then ate lunch at Tupelo Honey Cafe and had a little dessert at Chocolate Fetish. We then headed back to the Inn for some more R&R. We both read on the front porch for a while and got to meet some of the other guest arriving at the Inn. We then went for a walk around the neighborhood and found this AMAZING 1920's Spanish Villa that was for sale (Price: 1.9 Million!). After our walk we continued reading on the porch. :) At around 7:30 we headed back downtown to the Bier Garden for some dinner, beer (of course), and to watch the UGA vs Arizona game. The Dawgs won and we went back to the Inn to bed.

And we are back!

We had a WONDERFUL time in Asheville this weekend and I really wish we were still there! We left Athens around 4 and and had a pleasant drive through the mountains. We were able to make it to our home away from home, The Sweet Biscuit Inn, around 7. We quickly got ready and went out to eat at a restaurant called Pomodoros (YUM!). We had beer, wine, calamari, duck, and some Greek casserole that I cannot remember the name of, and a fabulous chocolate/espresso dessert! After dinner we drove around down town to check out the scene, but we were tired from a long day of work and driving so we went back to the Inn to watch a movie and go to bed.

Heading out of town

Well we are leaving town today. Hopefully by 3:30 we will be on the road, with the windows rolled down (it is beautiful outside today!!), and the music playing! I think it is a 3 hour drive so we will be getting into Asheville around 7 and checking into our B&B, the Sweet Biscuit Inn. I will post about our trip when we return!

That time of year...

This weekend Eric and I are going to Asheville, NC to go to the Biltmore Estate. We are going to Asheville to celebrate our 3 year anniversary (which is on the 24th)! When we got married we decided to always take time out for our anniversary so we can spend quality time together. So far we have been able to do that and I hope we can keep the tradition alive! Our first anniversary Eric took me to Savannah and on our second anniversary we went camping at Devils Fork SC State Park on Lake Jocassee. I will blog about Asheville when we get home!

Why I love my cats #1

So both of my cats LOVE sitting/laying in boxes. Any shape or size they will get into them! It is too cute to see them crawl up in one and take a nap.

New glasses!!!

So does it make me a nerd when I get excited about new glasses? I think it might....but I got some new glasses today and I am super psyched about them. They have a little flare but not too much that they make me look like a crazy person. I love getting a new look and my glasses are part of that.

PS. I also got a haircut....I feel like a new woman! Now all I need is a new outfit complete with shoes and a purse...I am sure Eric is ok with that! :)
