A sad day...

Yesterday, my husband Eric came home from a few days of camping and canoeing down a river in South Georgia. I was very excited to see him until he told me that my camera....my first camera....the one I LOVE....got soaking wet because the canoe tipped over. :(
I was SOOOO sad! I have to say I cried a lot and was not very happy with Eric...but what could he have done?? I told him there was no way I could live with out having a camera so today we went shopping! We ended up getting a great deal on a digital camera! My old camera was film so I am a little sad to leave the old world of film...but I am learning digital is not that bad! Maybe some day I can find an old film camera for sale to use every once in a while :)
Anyways....I was outside playing with my new Nikon DX 55mm when a Doe and her Faun walked across the street! I wanst that close enough to get a great picture but they are still super cute!

Top 5 things I miss about Minnesota!

OK so as you all know, I am from Minneapolis, MN and I am SUPER excited to go home in July for my cousin Angie's wedding! There is going to be so much going on while we are there...seeing friends, family, visiting International Falls, going to the MPLS farmers market...that is making me so excited I have been thinking about MN a lot lately. So since I have been missing MN I thought I would make a top 5 list to show why I am missing it....

5. WATER (there is almost none here compared to the 10,000 lakes in MN :)

The Kitchen

Well, as most of you know.....we HATE the counter tops in our kitchen. Ever since we moved in we have despised them. When we bought the house, we though we could live with them...but honestly who can live with green marble laminate counter tops!?!? :)
Needless to say the time has FINALLY come to replace them!! YEAH!!! We are also re-painting the kitchen cabinets and we are going to put tile down on the floor as well! Here is a before shot and one of what we have accomplished so far!

New Additions!

Well it probably isn't what you think.... :) We have some new furniture!! Once Eric got done with school we found a few (aka a TON!) of stuff for him to do around the house. First he built us a coffee table...and then a book case! Both add a lot to our one bare living room!! Here are a few pictures....
