What a day!

Not only was today the inauguration of our 44th President but it was the day that the FIRST African-American President was sworn into office at a building that was made by slaves and it is the day after we honored the great Martin Luther King. WOW....I really do think that MLK's dream has come alive and I am so proud to be a part of this and to be able to see how far our country has come. We still have a long way to go...but today... on this day, I am very proud.

What am I getting my self into!?!?!

Today is my first day back to school....grad school that is. I have to admit I am a little freaked out since I am taking an accounting class. I got my book in the mail the other day and....well....it is as big as the state of Texas!! Now you know why I am a little scared to start school again. See it for your self...

Neighbors

Yes these are our neighbors...playing "Star Wars" in front of our house :) I have told this story many times of how our neighbors kids (who are our age and still live at home)play with light sabers in the street.....now I have proof!

Christmas in Minnesota. Part IV

One day Eric and I took the time to go Lake of the Isles to go ice skating. I am not very good at ice skating... the first time I tried it was when Eric and I first started dating. Since then I have probably gone out about 15 times. So needless to say, I was a little rusty! Eric picked it up again in about 5 min...he is a pro!

While at the lake there was a big pick up game of hockey, man do I miss Minnesota!

Christmas in Minnesota. Part III

Our second leg of our trip brought us out to Maplegrove to stay with Eric's mom. We had a great time hanging out with Becky, Dan, and Rach...I think I at WAY too many cookies though! Becky and Dan just bought a new house so we got the chance to check it out even though they haven't moved in yet. It is a beautiful log cabin home on a beautiful property! I cant wait to explore the land more when we go back in the summer

Christmas in Minnesota. Part II

While at my parents house I got some decent pictures of all the deer that visit their house. We saw a 10 point buck that was HUGE (the deer in the south are tiny!!), some pheasants, and of course the squirrels, blue jays, and cardinals.

There was a lot of snow in MN when we first arrived, it was so beautiful!!! But, it was below zero the first few days so we pretty much stayed in doors, but here are some of my fav pictures when we did get out...

Christmas in Minnesota. Part I

We spent the first leg of our trip with my parents in Stillwater. We ate a lot of good food, went shopping, and had a great time together Christmas Eve. We did our annual lighting of the tree with real candles...no worries, we have a fire extinguisher. :)

We were able to get together with some of our old friends one night at Tara and Brian's house. We had such a good time watching Princess Bride, playing an Office trivia game, and just goofing off. Tara's son Tyler is getting so big! I cant believe how much he has grown since we were home last in July. Here are some pictures of our evening at Tara & Brian's house.

Happy New Year!!

Happy 2009!! Wow this year has flown by!! I cant believe it is already 2009... Last night my good friends Anthony & Melissa took pity on me and let me be there 3rd wheel. We went out to dinner at Basil Press and then went back to their house to watch Dick Clark's Rockin New Years Eve. I had a great time with them but I wish I could have been with Eric too. (2 days until he comes home, YEAH!!) Here are some pictures from our "wild" night :)
