While I have been here in GA hard at work, Eric has been having a lot of fun in Minnesota! He sent me some pictures of him and his Aunt Ada and Uncle Chuck in Two Harbors, MN. I am so sad I missed this again! Maybe next year...

I am back!
I got in last night from MN around 6:30 and my two wonderful friends Bethany & katie picked me up from the airport! It was nice to be home and see my cats and sleep in my own bed! I would post some pictures from our trip but Eric is still in MN (that stinker!) and he has the camera so you will have to wait!

Lesson Learned
Never leave your gate when your plane has been delayed.
This is a valuable lesson to know. We should have known Saturday would be a bad day when after we left the house Eric realized he left his coat and wallet at home. Luckily we were only 10 min from the house.
We got to the airport in plenty of time...checked in, got through security, got to the gate and boarded the plane. The plane was full and we were ready to go when the pilot came over the speaker saying Minnesota is experiencing a blizzard with high winds and we have been advised we can not land. He then told us it would be about an hour delay and for all of us to deboard the plane. So all of us passengers got off the plane.(BTW....since it was 70 degrees in Atlanta the airport was boiling hot with all the people in it and I am sure they still had the heat on). Eric and I ran to grab some food, went back to our gate and it was so packed full of people we could not move. We decided to go down to the next gate.
Unfortunately we lost track of time...got up and went to our gate and they had already boarded the plane. The "nice lady" at the desk said they tried paging us (but due to the large number of people in the airport we never heard them!!) and that they had already given our seats to someone else who was on time. She did say they had only one seat left so Eric and I decided that I would get on the plane and he would take a later flight. I drag my stuff on the plane and the seat they assigned to me was full. SO, once again I get off the plane and I also get bumped to a latter flight.
Our original flight was supposed to leave at 1:30, delayed until 3, missed the boarding, and now we were scheduled to leave Atlanta at 5:28.
Of course this time we stayed close to our gate, we were informed that we needed to move from gate C16 to gate C6...so we did and waited some more. Around 4:30 they told us we would be boarding any min...30 min later we are told the flight will be delayed due to the weather in Minnesota. Now we really wished we would have made our first flight! 10 Min later they tell us we can board (3rd times a charm right??) and the plane miraculously takes off and lands in Minnesota. Our first flight was supposed to land at 3pm but we didn't make it to Minnesota until 7:30pm.

Work Christmas Party
WOW. That is all I have to say...WOW. I had so much fun at my work Christmas party it was unbelievable. My co-workers picked me up and we stopped at a liquor store before the party to get a few small bottles of our favorite stuff to drink at the party. We drank, we sang, we danced...over all it was great! After the party we trekked across town and went to the Arch for some more drinking. :) We will have a lot of great memories from this night....if we can remember them in the morning!
Belly Dancing
Ok, this has to be one of the coolest dances... but I would never be caught exposing my belly to the world! One of my close friends though has all the confidence to do it and she was AMAZING! This is Bethany performing with her belly dancing class... doesn't she look amazing!?!? Check her out at Melissa Pepin Photography to see some portraits that she had done before the show.

I got in!!!
Well, I did it! I actually got accepted into grad school at Piedmont College. I got the letter on Friday and it is still sinking in. My fist thought was actually..."OMG what was I thinking!?!!?" I have calmed down a bit now, but I am still a little nervous. I have to register for classes on the 5th of January and then I start classes the next week...again what am I thinking??? :) We will see how it goes though....hopefully in 2 years I will have my MBA. Yeah!

Athens Christmas Parade
Don't you love a great parade??? Too bad the Athens parade is a little on the cheap side :) It was still a lot of fun though! The bands were good, the lights were pretty, and there were a ton of cute dogs that they wanted to you adopt. One I wanted to take with me but its owner wasn't to happy about that....I wonder why?? :) Here are some pictures of the floats and our great friends that joined us!

Scrabble anyone??
Over the Thanksgiving weekend we played a lot of scrabble. Regular scrabble, speed scrabble, and lets see if we can use all the letters from 2 sets and make long words scrabble. We had a lot of fun and I also learned some new words.
Also, wanted to thank Drew for his visit. We had a great time with you buddy! You are welcome back anytime!

Cold, wet, and bad football
So the Dawgs lost to GA Tech....what a crappy Saturday! We went to the UGA game with Drew and braved the cold and rain to watch the game in Stanford Stadium. Sadly we lost and unfortunately for us we could have stayed home in the warmth of our own home to watch the game on TV but we didn't. Oh well....I guess we cant win them all right?
Don't you just love our red and green ponchos?!?! :)

Success!
Well I have to say I think my first turkey ended up being a success! :) It was tasty and not dried out so I was pretty happy! The whole meal was great (and we have a TON of leftovers to feed us for the next week!) and we had great company! Eric's cousin Drew came to visit us from Alabama. Drew is from Iowa but is currently workin hard in Birmingham. We are so happy to have him here for the weekend....we always love company! Well here are some pictures of the food...(I forgot to take a picture of the finished product.)

Round 2!!!
Today I decided to tackle all of the leaves that have been piling up in our yard. I know our neighbor Wayne was happy about it....why do I know? Because he told me. Yes our neighbor told me he was glad I was raking because all of our leaves blow into his leaf-less yard. Gotta love neighbors :)
Anyways....It took me about 2 hours to rake/blow all the leaves into the woods behind our house. I took pictures again to illustrate how many leaves I raked up today...
This next pile, believe it or not, went up to my waist :)
And here is a picture of our massive Oak tree that wont drop its leaves for a little longer...
BTW....I did do all the raking by myself....why you ask? Because my hubby was playing golf....oh yes he was...

Getting Ready for Christmas.....
So I am geared up for Christmas this year!! In about a month we will be in beautiful Minnesota for Christmas with our families...we are super excited! I have already started purchasing gifts for my family and friends and cant wait to get more! Here are some pics from our Christmas last year to get you in the mood... :)
So You Think You Can Dance Tour!!!
OK So I was waiting for this night for a LONG time! My friend Bethany and I decided to buy tickets to the SYTYCD tour and it was AWESOME!!! I wish we were a little closer to the stage, but it was still really good! I really wanted to meet the dancers at the end, but I had to go to work the next day (BUMMER!) so we didn't stick around for the meet and great. Here are some pics from the show...FOR REAL!

Round 1!!!
This afternoon we tackled what seems like a small amount of leaves in our front yard. Our first year in our house we were very unprepared for the amount of leaves that drop in our tiny little front yard. Since then, we have learned to start early with the raking. It went by fast but it is unbelievable the amount of leaves we raked up and the amount of leaves still on the trees behind our house...I am sure we have a few more rounds to go! Right now....Helleloids = 1, Leaves = 0.

Black Rock Mountain
Saturday morning we got up bright and early to drive up to North Georgia to go hiking in Black Rock Mountain State Park. The drive was beautiful with all the fall leaves and we even stopped at Tallulah Gorge to look out over the cliffs. When we got to Black Rock Mtn. we picked up a map and headed out on the Tennessee Rock Trail. The going was easy (we were mostly going down) but we quickly realized the trip back up the mountain was going to be a doozey! Everything was beautiful....the leaves everywhere, the 100s of Rhododendron plants everywhere, the small streams to the lake we rested at for lunch. It was a great...until we started going up the mountain...man that was hard! Today my legs are aching in places I didn't know they could ache!! It was all worth it though...Eric and I had a great time getting away together and enjoying the outdoors! Here are some of my fav pics from the day...
